Party for the Planet

Celebrate Earth Day at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ Party for the Planet! Guests can learn how to take care of our earth by visiting environmental and animal conservation booths. Staff from DEP’s Northeast District will have a booth with Easy As One educational materials about recycling and green cleaning. Staff will distribute Easy As One conservation kits and Florida State Park passes. Activities at this event include live entertainment, animal encounters, animal enrichment (on April 24th only), prize drawings, and visits from Jazoo. There will also be a children’s area with eco-friendly crafts, bounce house and a giant inflatable slide.

22nd Annual Earth Day and Ecology Fair

Join Earth Day Jacksonville and dozens of earth-friendly companies for a fun-filled day for the whole family during the Earth Day and Ecology Fair at The Jacksonville Landing. This annual event is celebrating its 22nd year at The Landing and features more than 80 booths of educational and interactive displays, live entertainment throughout the day on the main stage, giveaways and more. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Northeast District will be providing information from Easy As One about recycling and green cleaning, as well as distributing Easy As One conservation kits and Florida State Park passes.

Earth Day at Jacksonville Elementary Schools

Elementary students will have the opportunity to help the Earth by recycling plastic bags, cell phones and cell phone chargers on Earth Day. Students are rewarded with a tote bag for bringing at least 20 plastic bags or a Florida State Park pass for bringing one cell phone or two cell phone chargers.
